LONDON TOUR

28 JULY – 15 AUGUST 2015

Will their postcodes keep them in their place?

East meets West across the education divide when four London teenagers compete for a prestigious scholarship. As they venture across the capital into unfamiliar territories, friendships are tested, aspirations are challenged and each is forced to decide what matters most. Will the best candidate win or will their postcodes keep them in their place?

A vibrant, timely and touching new work, taking the pulse on coming-of-age in a increasingly divided city. A play about young people for the young and young at heart! Join us! Book now.

WORKSHOPS

We’re also offering free devising workshops giving young people interested in drama a chance to create their own responses to the play.

They’ll share their creations with their friends and family in a special pre-show event. Suitable for ages 8 upwards.

DATES AND TIMES:

ARCOLA THEATRE      Wed 29-Fri 31 July 3-7pm

CLF ARTS CAFE          Wed 5-7 August  3-7pm

SAATCHI GALLERY     Mon 10-12 August  2-4pm

It’s a chance to create your own work and learn new games and techniques, exploring the themes of the play using drama, writing, music and movement.

We’ll look at topics such as:

Friendship/Loneliness when at school
Societal pressures / personal ambitions
Similarities / differences within class, race, postcodes.

Ending each workshop, there’ll be short performances of the new pieces to be shared with an audience of family and friends in the theatre space.

Facilitator: Maa Yarkor-Addo
